Visual identity design
Overview
OnStage Playhouse is a community theater located on Third Ave. in Chula Vista, CA surrounded by breweries, restaurants, and a thriving nightlife.
Competitor Research
After researching OnStage Playhouse and nearby competitors, I saw an opportunity to embrace the theater’s lively setting. I introduced a bold visual identity to capture the energy and creativity of Chula Vista’s evolving arts scene.
Color Palette
I went with a bright and bold color palette and a unique logo that hinted at the idea of a stage and stage lights without being too obvious.
Typography
For typography I used an expressive and bold sans-serif typeface called Degular, designed by Oh No Type Company and specifically used Degular Bold for headings and Degular regular for body copy.
Outcome
This new identity lays the foundation for OnStage Playhouse to strengthen its presence in the community and appeal to a new generation of theatergoers.
